Engineering Assistant 2
Job Summary:
Performs a variety tasks from sorting / organizing to construction / repair. Works from drawings, specifications, sketches and verbal instructions. Work requires high degree of skill, precision assembling techniques, testing and documenting. May work with customers and sales engineer to build and document prototype units. May also build small production runs.
Essential Functions:
- General knowledge of mathematics, blueprints, schematics, and solid works operation.
- Ability and willingness to assist engineers with tasks such as making prints to parts, proofing first articles, evaluation samples, exc.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal direction, blueprints, sketches or samples.
- General understanding of hand and power tools. (training will be provided on more advanced machines as needed)
- General understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Work with outside vendors as required.
- Work with others to develop and evaluate prototype assemblies.
- Performs equipment maintenance and checks calibration.
- Test assemblies.
- Work with Purchasing to source parts and obtain supplies.
- Use safety equipment as required in an industrial setting.
- Set up and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Other duties as requested (i.e. building shelving, acquiring parts, assisting others around the building and in various jobs)
Experience and Skills:
A shop environment with various electrical assembly equipment and shop equipment such as milling machine, lathe, drill press, bending and forming machines, chop saw for cutting, welding, etc. Ability to use computer for data entry, documentation, and mechanical drawings.
Business Development /Account Manager
Job Summary:
Responsible for developing new business opportunities including planning, designing and executing business development and marketing-related activities to support corporate and business unit plans. Develops and maintains strong long-term relationships with select account customer contacts. Responsible for planning, administering and completing assigned projects, which may cross several functional areas, such as facilities, operations, marketing or administration. Assignments may vary in length and complexity, but are generally not permanent. Typically does not supervise staff, but may provide work direction to individuals supporting a project.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement a corporate strategic business development plan.
- Identifies, negotiates and manages strategic relationships with external sales challenges.
- Coordinates marketing, sales and product development efforts to implement business development initiatives.
- Manages all phase of identification, development and maintaining customer contacts and accounts related to the sales process.
- Influences and persuades others to achieved planned outcomes.
- Support corporate and business unit initiatives through extensive vendor and customer interaction.
- Research and initiate the identification and recruitment of new business relationships.
- Responsible for achievements that are tired directly to annual business goals.
- Develop comprehensive marketing plans to include strategic profitability goals, vendor forecast and marketing analysis.
- Responsible for implementing training programs with assigned accounts to drive the sales process.
- Develops strong working relationships with all levels of management within the company and with external organizations..
- Perform leadership and management responsibilities (e.g., coaching, team development, performance management, etc.)
- Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control business unit process and outcomes
- Develop and implement measurement systems to drive the business (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly)
- Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with company values and accepted cultural norms.
- Review reports involving fiscal analyses, expense control and other metrics to ensure strategies and vision are aligned and on course per the business plan.
- Travel approximately 50% as needed to drive growth for the product line.
- Collaborate with other business unit managers, supervisors and employees to maximize team efforts within the business unit and cross-functionally.
- Stays informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales employees with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
- Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
- Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Preparation and delivery of Presentations to Customers and internal ISS stakeholders.Preparation of Quotation with recommendation on pricing and NRE charges.
Experience and Skills:
Seven plus years experience in business development, sales and marketing, preferably within an entrepreneurial environment. Proven leadership and management track record (e.g. building strong teams, managing and developing staff). Hands-on knowledge of client relations, sales, and sales tools and recruiting and selecting diverse talents to build a strong team.
Strong communication and negotiating skills with ability to adjust communication style depending on the audience. Strong project management skills and organization skills and attention to details as demonstrated through reports and updates to management and customers. Generates creative solutions; High level of ambition, sales experience, ability to work with people in senior management positions, excellent business management skills, ability to lead and direct people in projects that span site and involve multiple groups.
Experience with Automotive Electromechanical Assemblies. Experience working with OEM’s and Tier 1 & 2 Suppliers. Engineering background preferred.
