Portland, Oregon-based Instrument Sales and Service, Inc. (ISS) was originally founded in 1949 as an automotive parts distributor. In more than 60 years, ISS has grown into a diversified manufacturing, re-manufacturing and distribution company offering turnkey supply chain solutions for the automotive and capital equipment industries. The company currently employs 150 people in five states, serving more than 7,000 active customers across the United States and 15 foreign countries.

ISS President Sean Kelly joined the company in 1994 and became president in 2001. Over those years the business has steadily grown by 15% in compounded annual sales. During this time, ISS focused on taking advantage of market opportunities to diversify its operations and deliver its unique combination of customer service and expertise. Through this focus, ISS has expanded its core competencies from pure distribution to include manufacturing, remanufacturing, mobile installation, and off-shore sourcing. With these expanded capabilities ISS has been able to penetrate new market segments including OEM’s, Fleets, New Car Dealerships, Export Markets and the Classic Car Restoration Market.

ISS is a ISO/TS 16949:2002 Tier One supplier to General Motors, a direct supplier to Delphi Corporation, and an authorized warranty remanufacturing center for General Motors. Today, ISS is focused on providing support for major original equipment manufacturers, (OEM), such as Delphi, General Motors and Freightliner, with sales and service of automotive electronic products.

ISS’ diversified offering of services and strong customer support has contributed to the expansion of operations into Washington, Colorado and Arizona. The company history was built on quality products and services, and ISS continues to serve customers as they did starting in 1949.
