Our Direct Ship Program is completely transparent to the end customer and provides your company increased fulfillment capabilities:
- The end customer sees no paperwork with any ISS branding
- The end customer sees no packaging with any ISS branding
- The end customer places orders through our clients’ normal order entry system, never interacting with ISS’ order entry system
To the end customer, we simply do not exist.
Benefits of Direct Ship
Eliminates non-value added shipping. In a traditional model, ISS would ship to the Client, who would then ship to the customer:
In the ISS Direct Ship model, we eliminate the second step, thereby eliminating the costs in dollars and time associated with that step:
Reduce inventory carrying costs for the Client. The Client will not be burdened with the costs associated with breaking down pallets of product and storing them on their shelves for extended periods of time.
Improve The Client’s delivery speed. ISS currently ships nearly all of the orders entered into our customers’ systems the same day, provided we receive the order by 3 pm Pacific (5 pm Central). Our current Direct Ship contracts require that all orders ship within two business days.
How it works
All of our current Direct Ship partners relay their orders to us via EDI. (If requested ISS can process orders manually, but find that to simplify the process and contain costs, EDI is the better option.)
Every half hour our fulfillment centers print out orders and processes them for shipment the same day. All paperwork associated with each package prints on forms meeting our clients’ branding specifications. All shipments are bar coded to match with each order, improving accuracy and speed of delivery.
Capacity
Currently Ship Direct volume is processed through our Portland and Seattle facilities.
Our Portland facility processes up to 20k Direct shipments per year. However, because of our easily scaled procedures, highly trained staff, and abundance of additional warehouse space nearby, we feel we could expand this capability of this facility to 100k shipments per year within 6 months.
Our Seattle facility currently processes 4k shipments per year under the Direct Ship program. We project that throughput could be scaled up to 20k units per year within 6 months to meet demand.
Our Phoenix and Denver facilities do not currently support the Direct Ship program. However our staff and facilities have the capacity to move into that arena if there is a demand.
ISS currently ships to thousands of dealerships, distributors, reman exchange centers, and manufacturers under the Direct Ship Program. There are no limitations on the number of shipping destinations we can work with in a new program. Similarly, there is also no restrictions in the number of part numbers we can support, from a few dozen to tens of thousand.
Flexibility
Because we focus on being flexible to our clients’ needs, we are able to quickly modify elements of our Direct Ship Program. Changes to paperwork, preferred shipping companies, EDI connectivity and other variables are regularly implemented in a matter of days at ISS, without interruption of service to our clients end customers.
Implementation Schedule
As with everything at ISS, we try to mix the perfect blend of speed and quality into a new Direct Ship Program implementation. Depending on the requirements and scope of the Client’s project, we estimate a new program to take between 60 and 90 days to fully implement.
