INSTRUMENT SALES & SERVICE, INC. REPORTS
15 YEARS OF BUSINESS GROWTH
Oregon-based Company Builds Business on Meeting
Demands of
National Automotive Industry
Portland, Ore – April 26, 2006 – Instrument
Sales & Service, Inc. (ISS), a diverse automotive
and capital equipment manufacturing, re-manufacturing
and distribution company, announces revenues increased
by 19.6 percent in 2005, marking 15 years of consecutive
growth. In that time, ISS has expanded its service
offerings to the current markets: new car dealers,
original equipment manufacturers (OEM), diesel fleets,
automotive parts resellers, and the restoration market.
Based in Portland, Ore., ISS also has locations in
Washington, Arizona, Colorado and Nevada providing
manufacturing, remanufacturing and distribution services.
“We attribute our growth to capitalizing on
under-serviced market segments in the automotive industry,” said
Sean Kelly, president of ISS. “We have a great
track record of retaining customers and offering the
same high-level of customer service no matter their
size or how much we grow.”
ISS is positioned to continue growth, anticipating
a 30 percent increase in sales during the next three
years. Its customer base now consists of Blue Chip
names such as General Motors, Delphi, Visteon, Freightliner,
Nacco Material Handling (Hyster) and 6,000 other business-to-business
customers.
The following is a breakdown of ISS’ growth
highlights:
ISS’ Dealer Services Business Unit posted
a 40.4 percent gain in 2005 over 2004 levels.
The unit focuses on providing support for major OEMs,
such as Delphi Electronics, General Motors, Visteon,
and Freightliner with authorized warranty service of
factory installed automotive electronic products, primarily
audio systems and instrument clusters.
The OEM Business Unit has seen steady double digit
growth over the past five years.
This unit focuses on serving small to large OEMs by
in-sourcing low-volume product lines that are unprofitable
for large OEMs. ISS’ operations emphasize flexible
manufacturing solutions for low-volume product lines.
The Wholesale Distribution Business Unit comprises
approximately 13% of total revenues.
With a traditional heavy duty automotive distribution
warehouse model, ISS has a specialized niche market
aimed at customer needs in the area of gauges, lighting,
safety, convenience, comfort and control.
The Fleet Unit which only began in 2003 has doubled
in two years while expanding to 300 active customers.
The fleet unit works with managers of fleets including
school buses, trucks and stationary equipment to provide
specification, fabrication, and on-site mobile installation
of emissions-reducing technology.
